Achieving Compliance with Barrier Free Washrooms

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) became law in 2015. The act’s objective is to remove all boundaries or restrictions faced by those with a disability with the goal to make Ontario accessible to all by 2025.

If you operate a facility that provides goods or services, offers accommodations or own a building that is used by the public, then the AODA applies to you.

One of the main standards of the AODA is there must be one universal washroom for every three floors and one universal washroom in all single story buildings.

The universal washroom must be accessible as possible and that’s where we can help.

Southwest can supply and install power activated doors, touchless switches, voice activated call systems and visual alarms.  Allowing all your patrons to use the facilites with ease while being as hand free as possible.

We also provide grab bars, towel dispensers, soap dispensers, appropriate signage and install all according to the Ontario Building Code heights and regulations.

Southwest Doors & Hardware Ltd., ensures a one-stop shop in AODA compliance.
